At the beginning of each turn, players place new armies on their countries. The number of armies earned depends on the countries and continents owned, and may also be increased by turning in card sets.

Players receive an army for every three countries owned. For example, if a player owns fifteen countries, they receive five armies. Players receive a minimum of three armies.

Players receive additional armies if they own every country in a continent. The Continents window shows the number of bonus armies that each continent is worth.

Players can also turn in cards at any time while placing armies. Card sets increase in value over time. If a player has five or more cards, they must turn in sets.

When all armies have been placed, you can attack other countries.
